Playing Outdoors!

We played in the snow today and boy do we have a lot! Aaron was shoveling snow from our driveway to use on our igloo (still in progress). Kasey and Reese had a ball but the snow isn't quite wet enough to make a snowman and our street, which is a great sledding hill, hadn't been packed enough to really get sleds moving. So, we decided to make an igloo. In the end, it was just Aaron and I working on it because Kasey lost interest and Reese was too cold. Anyway, we had fun. Sweeda had fun romping around but was just a shiverin' after a few minutes so she went back inside.

Snowed In

We made our best gingerbread house to date! It was loads of fun and the girls did a great job. I think they put one candy in their mouths for every candy they "glued" onto the house.

There are NO words to describe....

The amazing, wonderful and relaxing time that we had in Cancun. I don’t think I have ever been so giddy while on vacation. I repeatedly told Aaron how thankful and grateful I was for him to take me on this trip and for finally agreeing to go. We are so blessed to be able to go on such an awesome vacation while I am staying home with the girls. We are already planning on going again. It is such a beautiful place. It was hot and truly enjoyable! Me amor Cancun, Mexico!

Santa's elves working hard!

We got our tree, waited for it to defrost, and then we were busy! The girls love unloading our 6 boxes of Christmas goodies and are pretty good helpers. We kept the twine on this year until we put it in the stand, added water, and put on the angel.....much much easier! However, we now have a crack in the stand and about 3 pitchers of water on our carpet. ("Honey, how can this tree be that thirsty?!") Oops!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We finally got our Christmas tree and decorated the house. It seems much more cozy this year and we are full of the Christmas spirit around here. It must be all the snow. First we went to get our tree. It was a perfect day to pick one out because of pictures and the novelty of it all BUT it was colder than a witch's t*t wearing a brass bra (as my dad says!). We picked it out in a hurry and then headed down the hill for some hot cocoa and cookies. The girls and I stayed inside and got warm, ate, and drank. You can see (the last pic) what daddy did. We forgot to have Aaron bring home our big blue truck from his work and so we had to resort to tying the blanket wrapped tree to the top of the burban! Way to go daddy!

Playing catch-up!

Wow! Where did time go?? We just had Thanksgiving last week, right?! I am posting about 3 weeks worth today because we are way behind....I guess vacationing right before Christmas does make things a little crazy BUT so so so well worth it!

Pictures!

Jennifer Lynn Photography came out last Sunday and took some fabulous pics of our family. The weather cooperated and we were able to get some great shots. Jennifer is a very affordable, dependable, and extremely flexible photographer and I know you won't be disappointed!

I don't know how to take pics from another blog and put them on my own, so I am just going to give you the link. Check them out!!

Slumber Party

So, we got to have the Salisbury girls over on Saturday night and we had a wonderful time. We played games, baked cookies, watched a new Barbie movie (I know, you're jealous), and of course, ate popcorn and M&M's! At the end of the day we put 4 very tuckered out little girls to bed....in their "tents" We set up Kasey's room as a campground and they were thrilled. I love my girls!!

Happy Halloween!

We headed to Salem for Haley's birthday and then it was time for Trick or Treating. The girls had a great time. Kasey would still be out there if we hadn't pulled her in the house. Reese made a great clown and Kasey fluttered around like a beautiful butterfly. The Sals' girls were a cheerleader and Sharpe (from HSM). It was actually a warm night...Thank Heavens!

Carving......with power tools!

We tried a new way of carving pumpkins this year. It works sooo much better and it is much quicker. My girls are still a little disgusted by the goo inside but they enjoy the outcome. I don't have a pic of the final product because my battery died but you get the idea.

Happy Halloween! BOO!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!

What a great October we had! We were able to go to the Oregon Sweet Berry Pumpkin patch with the Grays and had an awesome day. We were there for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours and the kids didn't want to leave. A few days later, I got to join the school field trips to the Heiser Farms Pumpkin patch. Both Kasey's Kindergarten and Reese's preschool went the same day/time so it totally worked out.
Corn Mazes are always fun! We got lost.....imagine that!I love this pic of Kasey. We were getting ready to go on the tractor ride and the guide was telling us what the next stop was......the slide and rope swing. I guess she was excited!
